Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur – A blockbuster


It was an amazing match . A perfect blend of defence and attack. It was a match against teams with rock solid defenses .  Reds conceding just  4 while spurs also conceding 6 . Their goal scorers too were in very fine form.  Kane scoring 8 and Lukaku 7 . But Kane being injured yesterday was huge blow to Pochettino’s desires of beating  Mourinho for the first time. And his dreams were finally shattered when his side failed to score a single goal. Kane’s replacement , Son Heung-Min was not enough for Manchester United’s 3-Men defence. He was in no sense a good replacement for Kane. Overall , Match was a tight and difficult one but the side which took the chance and scored won the match.

1st half- Tottenham Hotspur

This week Red Devils switched to a new formation which didn’t felt good enough as midfield was not able to provide much to the front two, Lukaku and Rashford.  MUFC was solid in defence but were not able to do what they are good with, this season, attack. They didn’t managed much shots . On the other hand, Spurs did had some shots but weren’t good enough for De Gea.  Spurs managed many a times to take the ball near to the attacking box but were easily dealt by MUFC defenders. Spurs’ midfielders were a bit quicker than midfielders which made the difference in the first half. But Pocchetino’s Men had a higher hand till half time as Mourinho's new formation did not seemed good enough in producing attacking play from his men.

2nd half  -Manchester United

After HT,  the real game started . Manchester United’s players got some fuel in there tanks. Now, they were running across  the field . This made the difference. At one point of time, Spurs were under pressure as Red Devils’ created series of chances. Once Mkhitariyan dribbled and tried a shot which rolled into the hands of Lloris followed by Lukaku’s blocked attempt. After some time , Valencia fired a volley similar to the one against Everton but not with the same result. But substitutions made by Spurs, allowed Eriksen to assist Dele Alli a near goal with a through ball. It almost left De Gea beaten. But the chance missed of Spurs was chance gained by Red Devils. SuperSub Martial on for Rashford scored the winner with the left foot beating Lloris who was not good enough throughout the game.


Verdict- Manchester United didn’t became quickly familiar to the new formation in the first half but they managed it off in next half. Spurs felt the absence of Kane in front. Neither Son nor Llorente were good enough to replace him. Young and Matic were crucial in the win. United now Chases City. A battle in Manchester is ON!!

Academic Year 2017-18 Ends

A life of student goes around an academic session. So, is mine. Today, another academic session ended with a cocktail of feelings- happiness, regret, enjoyment and grief. The happiness of doing so many things, the regret of not performing academically as I should, enjoyment of meeting so many new people, the grief of not able to manage everything, But I know time will bring something good for me. Happiness- The year was a roller coaster of experiences. In the summers, I wrote my first story and the most important feeling of appreciation from my grandfathers. Then, Yes I focused on my studies during Quarterly exams and did fairly good. Being almost every time in the top 5  and that too without tuitions (a trend in youth without which study seems impossible). And I have PCM.
